Kyra comes from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and has always made it her mission to go through life with kindness, respect, and passion. She is the youngest of 4, comes from a big loving family, and grew up encouraged to go out of her comfort zones. Kyra is hardworking with everything she does and strives to be a positive influence in any and every environment she encounters. 

 

Since finding her passion of dance at 2 years old, Kyra has been creating, learning, and improving on multiple styles of dance for 22 years. Kyra has been encompassed in dance and psychology together ever since she realized that she could use them together her freshman year at Northern Michigan University (NMU) in 2019. NMU is also where she found her love for musical theatre and has performed in many shows for NMU since 2020. She has finished her BA in Dance along with her BS in Developmental Psychology in 2023. 

She spent 2 semesters studying Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) at Pratt Institute in their Low Residency program. While attending Pratt she shared her time with Lake Superior Academy Montessori Elementary as an After-School teacher as well as a paraprofessional in the 2nd/3rd grade classroom.

 

She is currently based in Petoskey, MI, doing work towards her Therapeutic Dance Certificate, deepening her experience in Yoga practice, and sharing her passion of Dance/Movement with various populations around her. Her day-to-day jobs include being the Special Education Aide at one of the local Elementary Schools and being a part of Great Lakes Dance Academy and Prodigy Dance Company's team of dance instructors.
